Alaska’s Student Loan Program (ASLP) was established in 1988 to assist eligible students who wish to attend public postsecondary educational institutions throughout Alaska. ASLP provides interest-free loans to qualified students attending any school offering academic credit. Loans may be used for tuition, books, room and board, student activity fees, and other approved expenses. To qualify for an ASL loan, students must first meet eligibility requirements set by the ASL agency, including proof of financial need, enrollment status, citizenship or residency, and satisfactory academic progress. Students then apply for a loan by submitting their application to the loan agent. If accepted, they receive a disbursement check for the amount of their loan. When completed, the borrower submits the application to the loan agent along with the appropriate documentation. After receiving approval, borrowers have six months after graduation to repay their loan. All loans issued under the program are repaid according to the terms and conditions negotiated between the state and the federal government at the time the loan is granted.

We fund your college degree, whether it be in Business Administration, Law, Veterinary Medicine, Dental, Medical, Pharmacy, Radiologic, Optometry, Paralegal, Engineering, etc. So, if you want financial assistance to attend school this fall, please check out our friends at Alaska Student Loan! Your loan payments are calculated based on the amount due each month and the length of time it takes to pay off the loan. Our website will give you the status of any type of loan you may have (Federal Parent PLUS Loans, Federal Direct Subsidized Loans), including letters that summarize your monthly payment and what portion you are paying towards the principal versus the interest. I’d like to share my story about how I paid off $40k worth of debt in under two years! Plus, Alaska student loans are so much easier than federal loans if you live out-of-state (or even in-state).

I am currently paying off $40,000 worth of student loans. I have less than $15,000 left and wanted to know if I could pay it off early. I don’t need the money now but want to start my own business someday. “
I’m just wondering what would happen if we ever did get hit by asteroid? Is there any way to protect ourselves if it’s big enough? Do we need to worry about things like that?
