Ohio State University Loans
Ohio State University Loans
The Ohio State University Loan is a program offered by OSU (Ohio State University) where students who have lived at least half their lives in the state of Ohio can receive financial aid if they attend OSU. Students can borrow money for tuition, books, lodging, and living expenses while staying at OSU. Each student receives a loan of $10,000 per year for four years after completing two years of undergraduate studies. If the student graduates with honors, then he/she may qualify for additional loans of up to $20,000. These loans are renewable each year. To apply for these loans, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once the FAFSA is submitted, OSU reviews the information and determines whether or not the applicant qualifies for any of the OSU loans. After being approved, the amount that is granted is based on need-based criteria. Financial assistance is provided to help pay for college costs, including room and board, books, and supplies. At any time before the fourth year, students may choose to withdraw from school and no longer take out student loans. However, withdrawal does mean that the student loses all federal financial aid. In addition, some scholarships may not be renewed once a student drops out. Ohio State Scholarships
