Sofi is short for student loan, which is a government-backed debt program that helps students finance their education. You can use the Sofi website to find out about how many loans you have and what they are for. You may log into your account using your email address and last four digits of your social security number.
If you don’t remember your password, just click forgot password at the top right corner of the page and follow the instructions.
Enter your username (the first name portion of your email address) and last name in the appropriate fields. Click login. Then enter the last four digits of your SSN. After entering your last four digits, review the information and if everything appears correct then click continue.
When prompted to select a category, choose the option that best describes your situation. This is done by clicking on the dropdown menu located under Select Category. A list of options will appear. Choose the option that best describes the type of loan you have. Once selected, click continue.
Now, select the option that best describes where you live. If you’re unsure about where you reside, click the state dropdown menu and select Alabama. You’ll be taken back to the home page of your account and the next step is to select your location. Your location will determine which lenders are displayed on the left side of the screen.
Next, select the lender(s) who represent you best. Lenders are listed based on the amount of money that they currently offer. However, keep in mind that not all lenders offer loans in all states.
Review your loan information carefully before submitting your application. If you need additional information or clarification, contact your lender directly. Otherwise, submit your application.
Within 24 hours, you should receive an e-mail notification stating whether or not your application was approved. If the status indicates that your application has been rejected, click the link provided and read the reasoning behind the decision. Once you’ve reviewed the details, reply to the sender and ask them to resubmit your request.
Keep checking your inbox and spam folder until you receive confirmation of approval.
If you do not receive an e-mail within 48 hours, call the company to confirm that your application went through.
If you’d prefer to speak with someone over the phone, reach out to the customer service representative via phone and provide your full name and email address. Provide any additional information that you feel might expedite the process.
If you receive an answer regarding your question, verify your identity. Make sure the information matches your documents, including your driver’s license, passport, and Social Security card.
You will receive a welcome letter once your application has been processed. This letter will explain the terms and conditions of your loan. Read through the entire document to ensure that you understand its contents. If you still have questions, contact the lender directly.
Before signing anything, make sure to read through the entire agreement thoroughly. This includes the credit information disclosure statement, contract, and any addendums. Also, check the box indicating that you agree to the terms included in the agreement.

Sofi Student Loans – An Overview
If you’re looking for student loans, Sofi is what you need. Sofi was created to help people get their education without the hassle of traditional student loan companies. Sofi stands for Students First Initiative and offers several student loans. Here is a short overview about each type of Sofi Loan.
Sofi College Education Planner Loan (SoFi College) – A Sofi college education planner loan allows students to use their own funds to pay for school while getting interest free financing. There are no origination fees, prepayment penalties, or hidden fees. You only have to pay back 20% of your income if you choose to go to graduate school. If you do not complete graduate school, you can still make payments on your SoFi plan until you reach age 30 or repay 100%, whichever comes first.
Sofi Graduate School Planner Loan (SoFI Graduate) – A Sofi graduate school planner loan allows students to borrow money for grad school. Similar to the Sofi college education planner, there are no origination fees or prepayment penalties. However, unlike the Sofi college education plan, you have to pay back 15% of your income over 10 years. After ten years, you can either pay off the loan early at any time or continue making payments until reaching age 40 or repaying 100%.
Sofi Tuition Loan (SoFi Tuition) – A Sofi tuition loan is meant for those who want to attend school and are unable to otherwise afford it. These loans require a monthly payment based on how much financial aid you receive. Payments remain constant throughout the duration of your enrollment and accrue interest.
Sofi Business Planner Loan (SoBi Planner) – A Sofi business planner loan is one of the best options out there for entrepreneurs who wish to start their own businesses. You can use these loans to cover operating costs and invest in equipment. The rates range between 6.99%-15.89%, depending on whether you qualify for federal or private investment.
Sofi Capital Planner Loan (SoCa Planner) – A capital planner loan makes funding startup capital possible. To apply for the SoFi capital planner loan, you have to provide proof of income and assets. The loan requires an annual interest rate of 2.90%.
This video discusses some of the Sofi loan types that you should consider.
